Proxies

The first thing to know is the meaning of proxy: a proxy is a computer that acts as an intermediary between the connection of a client and a destination server, so long story short a proxy (or proxy server) is a "gateway" through which your personal home computer can access and search the internet anonymously. In other words, it masks your home IP address from appearing on the websites you're browsing, showing the proxy IP instead.

Nowadays proxies are essential when using a bot, in fact the more tasks you run the more requests you will be sending to the page, then different IPs (proxies) are needed in order to avoid being blocked by the website.

Types of proxies

Residential

Residential proxies are IP addresses given by an internet service provider (ISP). They are real IP addresses that are attached to actual physical locations. A residential proxy allows you to connect to the internet through the IP address of another existing home or office.

When you generate Residential proxies you are often asked to decide between Static and Rotating. Basically the difference is that Static ones have a static IP (it does not change), whereas Rotating ones have a dynamic IP (it changes for any request).

Residential proxies allow other internet users to trace the IP address back to the actual location of your proxy IP address.

Sold in GB (gigabyte). You can generate thousands and thousands of proxies, you will burn data only by running them.

Datacenter

Datacenter proxies do not have any affiliation to your internet connection or internet service provider and are entirely independent from these last ones. They are usually way faster than Residential proxies but often more subject to ban/ratelimit so always make sure the DCs you are buying are "unbanned" (aka they work) on the specific website/s you will be going to bot.

With Datacenter proxies, your original IP address is entirely masked and replaced by the IP address issued by your datacenter proxy service provider.

Sold in IPs packs (x25, x50 and so on...). You literally buy X amount of IPs (proxies) and you won't burn any data. They expiry after a certain amount of time (daily, weekly, monthly).

FAQs

・How/Where can I buy proxies? There are several providers offering Residential and datacenter proxies, you can check the "Providers" category in our Discord server to find providers and discount codes as well.

How can I test the proxies? You can test your proxies through Fogldn or thanks to the proxy tester of your bot.

What kind of proxies do I have to buy? The choice between Resis and DCs can only be on you, according to the websites you will be going to bot and most of all to the kind of protection they have. ・Do you recommend static resis or rotating resis? Same as above, choice on you depending on the websites and their bot protecion. ・Are proxies and VPNs the same thing? Both mask your IP address but a VPN will also encrypt the data you send and receive (something that a proxy doesn't do) so it's better but only in terms of "security" which is something we actually don't need while botting known/trusted websites. A VPN can be recommended for manual users, however it is useless in terms of botting when you need to send a lot of requests so you need a huge amount of IPs (VPN just provides one) and you do not care about "security".
